HRH Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka carries one end of a pole laden with food baskets while leading the gift-giving procession to the new King of Tonga's residence (also his brother) during the ha'amo. Food baskets are presented and other gifts were presented to the royal family by the Tongan nobility for 10 days following the burial of the late King of Tonga, Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, as a mark of respect. The king, one of the world's longest-serving monarchs, died in Auckland on 10 September 2006 following a long illness. His body was returned to his homeland and he was buried on 19 September 2006 at Mala'e Kula (the royal burial ground) in the Tongan capital.
