Steve Henry, a mice expert at the CSIRO (The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, an Australian Government agency responsible for scientific research) inspects mice damage with farmer Don McDouall who has been overrun by mice in recent weeks. Steve Henry is on a tour of Western NSW, holding a series of mouse control workshops to inform farmers on how to recognise the early signs of mice problems and how best to manage them. Don McDouall has lost many bales of hay to the mice and has started trapping them with buckets of water. He caught approximately 500 mice in the last 5 days. <br />
In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
