Tons of corrugated roofing provided by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) are loaded into a helicopter at Kathmandu airport for delivery to outlying vilalge where they will be used to provide temporary shelter and building materials.

On 25 April 2015 a powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck central Nepal, causing widespread destruction of property and infrastructure and killing approximately over 8,000 people. Many buildings on the UNESCO World Heritage list were also damaged or destroyed.
