Rats, caught in local farmland are skinned after being killed by boiling water which is poured over the live rodents. The boiling water also makes it easier to remove the fur from their bodies which is done by hand with a small razor blade. The rodents are considered a delicacy in the region and catching them is an activity that is passed down through the generations, with many of the hunters having learnt this skill at a young age.
