Bathers wallow in the shallows around 'Vase Rock' a formation created by coastal erosion. The rock is one of the island's landmarks and one of the sites for a festival, held every third year, honouring the Gods who protect the island. The week-long event culminates in the burning of a huge model boat on the beach at Baisha Port following its procession around the island.
