John Irvine Fluro, employed on the farm of  Greg Younghusband burns approximately 130 bales of hay that have been destroyed by mice, valued at $200-$250 each. Greg Younghusband's farm was overrun with mice about a month before. The mice destroyed two fridges, his washing machine and dryer and the sofa and chewed through bedsheets and clothing. He lost 1,500 hay bales in total. In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
