A 'climbing crane' invented by the Dutch company Lagerwey climbs a wind turbine as it builds it, saving space and transport of large machinery parts. When it reaches the top, it lifts the generator housing, add the rotor blades, then climbs down. There are only several such machines in the world and two are being used by German industrial company Enercon, which is building many turbines near the Groningen sea port.
