Nikolai Sivoglo (65) lives in the ghost town of Viivikonna in a decrepit flat which lacks both water and electricity. During the Soviet-era Viivikonna was a flourishing mining town, inhabited by Russian workers. With the decrease in oil shale mining most inhabitants left leaving those who stayed behind to live with extreme poverty, poor housing, unemployment and alcoholism.
