Iraqi refugees gather to talk and socialise in a public park. in El Cajon, California. Older refugees have a difficult time adjusting to their new life in the United States. It is often too late for them to start over again, it is more difficult for them to learn the language, to adopt to a new culture and they remain attached to the life and community that they left behind, especially the social life with their family, neighbours and friends.
