Country Fire Authority volunteer fireman Harry Carlin stands in the blackened remains of The Black Range State Forest near Buxton, a month after a fireball swept through the area. The Black Saturday bushfires, which began on 7th February 2009, were the deadliest in Australia's history. The fires killed 173 people, displacing 7,500 and destroying 2,000 homes over an area of 450,000 hectares. 34 people died in this area.........
