Albert Yousif, president of the A2Z cleaning company, at his desk in the company offices in Troy, Michigan. Mr Yousif is an Iraqi refugee who came to the US in 1992 following the first Gulf War. He arrived with $25 in his pocket and worked hard at two jobs, including one at a janitorial company where one year later he formed a partnership with the American owner. A year after that the owner went through a divorce and sold the company to Mr. Yousif. He has built the company up, expanded the business and now employs 35 people, including several refugees recently arrived from Iraq.
