The Ancoats area, once the world's first industrial suburb, has gone from a no-go area to the aspired New Islington redevelopment project in just a few years. But just around the corner from one of 'the coolest places to live in the world' (Time Out Magazine), the legacy of the industrial past continues to crumble and the immense social problems are unmistakable.
