The Tink family hunt mice most evenings as the region is inundated with mice. Farmer Colin Tink (far right) designed the giant mouse trap from a empty container with some grain as bait, some bits of corrugated iron and a child's bath filled with water. With the help of Grandson Jock Tink (5, holding broom) the family scare and push the mice off the edge into the water where they drown. The first time they tried this, a week earlier, the family killed 7000 mice in one evening. <br />
In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
