Mice scurry for cover as farmer Colin Tink begins herding mice inside a giant mouse trap made using a empty container with some grain as bait, bits of corrugated iron and a child’s bath filled with water. Mr Tinks property has been inundated with mice in recent weeks. The first time they tried this, a week earlier, the family killed 7000 mice in one evening. In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
