Equipment for measuring the purity levels of the lithium carbonate produced at the plant in the Salar de Uyuni. Every day, brine samples are transported 14km from the factory in the salt flats to the lab so that their purity levels can be tested. The challenge lies in producing lithium carbonate with the purity levels needed for industrial use, a minimum of 95.5%.
