Nepalese security forces prepare to distribute drinking water and food to the earthquake survivors who took shelter at the Tundikhel stadium in Kathmandu.
After the earthquake, the Tundikhel stadium has turned into a big camp. Thousands of people are living in tents and temporary shelters. Many international aid organisations deliver food and basic things for people living in the camps. Not all of the camp residents have lost their homes. Many are still afraid to go back because of the constant small aftershocks that continue to shake the ground.
On 25 April 2015 a powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck central Nepal, causing widespread destruction and killing approximately 7,760 people (29 April estimate).
