A roadside billboard is reflected in a puddle of rain. On the billboard are the photographs of two missing women, on the left is Monica Janeth Alanis Esparza, and on the right is Lydia Ramos Mancha, both students at the nearby Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juárez. The billboard is an appeal for information as to their whereabouts. The city has a recent history of the murder and disappearance of women. Ciduad Juarez is a bordertown that lies opposite the Texan city of El Paso, just across the Rio Grande. It is plagued by drug related violence. Drug cartels fight over control of lucrative smuggling routes while smaller gangs fight each other over territory. With over 2800 killings in 2009, this city, of one and a half million people, has become the most dangerous in the world....
