Youths playing draughts (checkers) with caps from primus beer bottles at a home run by Murhabazi Namegabe's Voluntary Force at the Service of Childhood and Health (BVES). Namegabe has dedicated his life to the welfare of the thousands of children kidnapped by armed groups and forced to be child soldiers or sex slaves. Despite death threats, imprisonment and beatings he has freed more than 60,000 children. Once they are released they undergo a rehabilitation. Namegabe's organisation provides them with a safe home and schooling and where possible they are reunited with their families.
