New Qurna, built by the government to house the thousands of families from Old Qurna. Qurna is located a few miles outside Luxor and is built in the Valley of the Nobles, a major archeological site. The Egyptian authorities are demolishing Qurna and moving its inhabitants to nearby New Qurna to make way for more tourist friendly developments.
