Evelyn Godson, the school's proprietor, stands amongst students at the Eve Godson International School in Accra. She started the school in 2004 in wooden structure with six students. Later she obtained a loan for GHS 200,000 (GBP 34,500) from microfinance provider Advans Ghana to construct a new building for her school. She now has 784 pupils studying on two buildings, from nursery through to junior high school. School fees are  GHS 120 (GBP 20) per term for nursery school, GHS 180 (GBP 31) per term for primary school and GHS 250 (GBP 43) per term for junior high school. Godson employs 39 staff, 34 of whom are teachers. International Finance Corporation (IFC) supported initiatives to create a regulatory framework for leasing and establish credit bureaus and collateral registries have improved access to finance for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
