Employees of the New Forests Company plant seedlings. Local communities complain that workers steal their crops. The workers themselves complain of low and irregular wages and an insufficient supply of food. The New Forests Company has signed a lease with the Ugandan government planting more than 10'400 hectares of pine and eucalyptus trees, however this has caused 27'000 people to be evicted from their land, according to Oxfam International.
