Farmer Greg Younghusband with his daughter Caitlin Younghusband (8) prepare a truck carting hay that has not been too badly damaged by mice. They will sell these to farmers as feed for their cattle. Greg Younghusband's farm was overrun with mice about a month before. The mice destroyed two fridges, his washing machine and dryer and the sofa and chewed through bedsheets and clothing. He lost 1,500 hay bales in total. In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
