Jeane Leite, 15, a student at the Escola Familia Agricola Antonio Fontenele (EFA) near Lago do Junco in Brazil's northeastern state of Maranhao. Students, many who come from far away, alternate living at the school and at home for 14 days at a time. The school is supported by the Association of Land Reform Settlements of Maranhao State (ASSEMA), an umbrella NGO of associations operated for and by rural peasants and Babacu nut breakers.
