Rebel fighters distribute food and supplies to residents of Ajdabiya who had been trapped in their homes for almost two weeks while Gaddafi forces occupied the town. They had been driven from Ajdabiya after NATO carried out strategic airstikes on artillery and tank positions before rebels moved in and secured the area. On 17 February 2011 Libya saw the beginnings of a revolution against the 41 year regime of Col Muammar Gaddafi.
