The Turkana are nomadic herders, one of a group of related Nilotic peoples, including  the Karimojong of Uganda and the Toposa of Sudan, who moved southwards into the region. .Set in the mud on top of the Turkana men's heads are neat rows of cup-shaped animal tendon sown together with fine electrical wire. In some of the cups are set small ostrich feathers, pink signifying the order of the Stones/Mountains, white and black the order of the Leopards....
