Untreated organic and inorganic waste blights part of the Funafuti coral atoll. The tiny Pacific island nation of Tuvalu is one of the few places in the world already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change and global warming. Due to the rising sea level, erosion, and extreme weather events, the island is shrinking and may eventually disappear beneath the Pacific Ocean.
