Nairobians using the internet on their smart phones as they ride on a city bus. Kenya's biggest telecoms company, Safaricom, has begun installing wifi in matatus, the packed minibuses and vans that ply the city providing residents of the capital the cheapest form of urban travel. The wifi is free to passengers but the matatu drivers pay a fee of about USD 25 a month for the router. However, those who have it installed say the free wifi has increased passenger numbers.
