Jock Tink (5), hunts for mice, pushing mice with a broom towards a pool of water at the end of the large mouse trap constructed by his grandfather Colin Tink. Farmer Colin Tink designed the giant mouse trap from a empty container with some grain as bait, some bits of corrugated iron and a child’s bath filled with water. The first time the trap was used a week earlier, the family killed 7000 mice in one evening.
In 2021, farming areas in southeastern, southern and western Australia faced a massive infestation of mice which ruined millions of dollars worth of crops and animal feed.
