Before the earthquake, Bhaktapur, a former royal capital of Nepal, has attracted many tourists and pilgrims, who wanted to visit its ancient temples. After the earthquake its streets plunged into darkness, as the electricity is still cut in many areas. Many temples, that are part of a UNESCO World Heritage were partially destroyed by the earthquake. Some entire areas of the city are still blocked by rubble, there are still many dead bodies waiting to be recovered.
