Located in remote northeastern Kenya, near the Somali border, refugee numbers at the camp continue to grow as the situation in Somalia shows little sign of improvement. In 2008, 60,000 Somali refugees crossed into Kenya, leading to severe overcrowding, with the three Dadaab camps now three times their initial capacity. .
