Residents of the ancient city of Bhaktapur, a former royal capital of Nepal, lighting the candles on the Durbar Square in memory of the victims of the earthquake that killed nearly 8 thousand people.
Despite the grief, many Nepalese people thank all of their gods that the earthquake happened during the day on a weekend. "If this had happened at night when everyone was sleeping or on a weekday, when all the children were in school, the number of the victims would be much bigger”, - says Shribakta, one of the residents of Bhaktapur, who come to the Durbar Square to honour the memory of the victims.
