Serbian Orthodox church goers attend mass at the church in Gracanica on Sunday morning in the Gracanica Monastery. The monastery has become a refuge to Serbs from Lipjan, displaced by riots on March 17 and 18, when unruly Albanian mobs burned and looted property belonging to the minority Serbian population. The riots have been described as ethnic cleansing of the last pockets of ethnic Serbs in the region.
The monastery and church are UNESCO listed buildings.
