The donkey costume has been traditional in Barranquilla's Carnival for a long time. It is part of its symbolism and it was within the framework of this tradition that the folkloric manifestation was modelled, but no longer as an individual but a collective costume. In the parody, the costume emulates the movements of an unfriendly donkey and in its presentations, it occupies an area of about thirty metres, that it jumps and kicks left and right, for the public's enjoyment.
