A migrant looks out from behind bars at the Kararim detention centre, 40 km east of Misrata. The centre, the biggest in Libya, houses more then 1000 mostly West-African migrants, many of them have spent weeks or even months in the centre. Conditions are bad; sanitation is minimal, almost all the men have scurvy or lice, nutrition is below standard and the facilities are heavily overcrowded.
