Chief Mwakaboko is a traditional leader for a northern border region of Malawi. He is working closely with LISAP to change the culture of child marriage and to reduce reluctance to this change from his community.
The Livingstonia Synod AIDS Programme (LISAP) 'coordinates the HIV & AIDS activities of the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian (CCAP) Synod of Livingstonia and mobilises and empowers communities to initiate and sustain HIV & AIDS interventions with a Christ centred spirit.' (LISAP website). Its Girls and Boys Empowerment Project funds increased access to education as an early intervention method to HIV/AIDS prevention.
