They utilise waste plastic as a resource to manufacture aesthetic, durable and environmentally friendly fencing posts. EcoPost Ltd generates employment for individuals at the initial stages of the value chain, mostly youth and women, who collect, sort and clean plastic waste for reselling. As a green business their goal is triple fold; to recycle waste plastic and thus provide an alternative waste management solution to the plastic menace, to provide an affordable alternative to timber and to provide employment and thus a source of living to many unemployed youth in Kenya. Ecopost was founded by Lorna Rutto and Charles Kalama. While contributing to waste cleanup and saving trees, EcoPost is also helping to reduce poverty in Kenya.
