A female prisoner breastfeeds her newborn baby at Rumbek prison. Local women are frequently accused of adultery, which is illegal, by their husbands and many of them end up incarcerated at Rumbek prison as a result. The jailing of women for "adultery" is often linked to dowry and other marital disputes. Occasionally, women committed to arranged marriages themselves attempt to be jailed for adultery crimes in order to provoke their husbands into granting them a divorce.
