Dredging illegally for sand in the Bagmati river in the Shantinagar district. On a good day the workers can earn up to 400 rupees (£3.20) selling bags of sand to the cement industry. However, if caught, they have to pay bribes of 200 or 300 rupees for the police to turn a blind eye.
