Afaf Al-Hagri speaks of her decision to leave Yemen as a political refugee during Yemen's civil war in 1994. She worked teaching English and Comparative Literature at Aden University, and now lives in Sheffield with her husband Awadh Rashed (foreground), a former diplomat.
