A street corner noticeboard in Hillbrow, the city's most notorious neighbourhood, serves to advertise spaces available for rent, a sitting room, a bedroom, a bed even a door space. Hillbrow is overcrowded, ridden with illegal squats and suffers from high levels of crime much of which is related the thriving illicit drug trade.
