David Yairo (28) sits on his wheelchair at the Hohola Rehabilitation Centre for disabled people. He was arrested by the police after robbing a jewellery shop in Port Moresby. When police took David to the police station, he admitted that he had been involved in the robbery. Instead of locking David in a cell and pressing legal charges against him in court, the policemen shot him in his leg and left him bleeding on the street. He made his way to hospital where doctors amputated his leg.
