19 year old student Charity tends to her father John who is badly affected by Tuberculosis. Nigeria has the most people living with Tuberculosis (TB) of any country in Africa, with 460,000 new cases, and 140,000 deaths, each year. The country is now using the DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment) strategy in which TB patients take their medication each day in front of health staff, to ensure patients continue to take their prescribed drugs. This prevents the chances of developing Multi Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB), which is usually caused by misused and discontinued treatment. TB kills 1.7 million people a year.
