'Fishing' trap for recording the flows of migratory birds at the ornithological station 'Fringila' on the Curonian Spit. The world's first ornithological station was opened here by the German scientist Johannes Thienemann at the beginning of the 20th century. After the war, Soviet scientists continued their activities. The Fringilla station is still the largest in Europe.
