A tsunami struck the coast of Thailand on the morning of December 26. 2004. Pakarang Blue Village resort was totally wiped out, today a new resort, Apsara, is in the same location, and tourists has returned..The destruction was great in Khao Lak, north of Phuket, were thousands of tourists and locals died. Large holiday resorts were reduced to rubble.
