It is very common in Bangladesh to see older people with dyed orange hair, men with orange beards or orange moustaches and women with orange hair. The dye used is from the flowering Henna plant. The practice comes from the widely held belief that the Prophet Muhammad dyed his beard and hair. It is also common among people returning from Hajj. Some Muslims believe that henna is the only dye they are free to use for colouring their hair.
