Oil extraction facilities at a farm near Launceston that grows opium poppies for pharmaceutical use. Local farmer Rob Henry of Macquarie Oils has recently started extracting the oil from the poppy seeds (a waste product) for the production of biofuel. The seeds which are toxic to humans contain 80 percent oil. The use of biofuels reduces carbon emissions.
