Boys and young men in the primary school of the village of Hamesh Koreb. The town practices a conservative form of Islam where men and women (even married couples) are completely segregated. A wall divides the two sides of the town where the men and the women live. Women are forbidden any form of education. The area was the stronghold of the Eastern Front who were allied to the Southern forces against the government in Khartoum during the country's civil war.
