A boy dressed as a devil, during the Mikulas (St. Nicholas) celebration, sits on a wall in front of the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord in Jiri z Podebrad Square. St. Nicholas is a long Czech tradition, celebrated on 5 December, when the trio of St. Nicholas, the Angel and the Devil wander through the streets and quiz children about whether they've behaved themselves over the last twelve months and then reward or punish them for good or bad behaviour respectively.
