Buildings in Islahiye tilt precariously in front of the Nurdagi Mountains as rescue and recovery operations continue following a massive earthquake that occurred in the early hours of Monday, 6 February, and affected southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing widespread destruction and tens of thousands of casualties.  Islahiye is one of the towns that sits directly on the fault line at the epicentre.
