A Kenyan Army plane flies over the burning residential area of Nakuru. Warriors belonging to the Kalenjin tribe launched attacks earlier in the day on the residential areas of Nakuru. They torched fields in the morning and, using the smoke as cover, chased the Kikuyus from their homes,  looting everthing and  setting the houses on fire. A few hours later Kikuyu communities elsewhere in town started chasing others in retaliation, resulting in over 50 casualties and many wounded.
